What a GST tax invoice must show
- Your name, address and GSTIN
- A unique invoice number (up to 16 characters) and the date
- Customer's name and address, and their GSTIN if they're registered
- HSN code for goods or SAC code for services
- Quantity, value, taxable value, GST rate and amount (CGST + SGST, or IGST)
- Place of supply for sales to another state
- Signature of the supplier or an authorised person
If you're not GST-registered, you can't charge GST. Choose "Invoice (no GST)" and "No GST" instead.
CGST + SGST or IGST?
Selling to a customer in your own state: split the GST equally into CGST and SGST. Selling to another state: charge the full amount as IGST.
Frequently asked questions
Is this invoice valid for GST?
Yes, as long as you fill in all the required details correctly and you're GST-registered. If your turnover needs e-invoicing (over ₹5 crore), you must also generate an IRN on the government's e-invoice portal.
How does the UPI QR code work?
Enter your UPI ID and the invoice shows a QR code with the exact amount filled in. Your customer scans it with any UPI app (Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm, BHIM) and pays you directly. We never touch the money.
Where is my data stored?
Only in your own browser, so your business details are ready next time. Nothing is sent to our servers.
Can I make a quotation or delivery challan too?
Yes. Change "Document" at the top to Quotation, Proforma Invoice or Delivery Challan.
