How we calculate
We work out the Moon's exact position at the time of birth with standard astronomical formulas (Meeus) and the Lahiri ayanamsa used in most Indian panchangs, giving the Moon sign (rashi), nakshatra and pada. If someone was born when the Moon was close to the edge of a nakshatra, a few minutes' difference in birth time can change it. We flag those cases.
Important
Guna milan is a traditional practice and only one part of a full horoscope reading. It doesn't include Manglik (Mangal) dosha or the many exceptions (dosha cancellations) a pandit or astrologer considers. Use it as a starting point, and remember that understanding, values and respect matter most in a marriage.
Frequently asked questions
What if we have Nadi dosha?
Nadi dosha (0 of 8 points) means both have the same Nadi. Traditionally there are exceptions, for example when both share the same nakshatra but different rashis, or the same rashi but different nakshatras. Many families consult an astrologer for remedies.
Why does my result differ from another website?
Small differences in ayanamsa, time zone or birth time can change the nakshatra near boundaries, and some sites use slightly different tables for Gana or Vashya. If you know your nakshatra from your family's kundli, choose "Nakshatra" for an exact match.
