How to use your UPI QR code
- Find your UPI ID in your UPI app (usually under your profile, like name@okhdfcbank or 98xxxxxx@ybl).
- Enter it above, add your shop name, and pick a design.
- Test it: scan the QR with another phone and check your name appears.
- Print it, laminate it, and put it where customers can easily scan it.
Personal or business UPI ID?
A personal UPI ID works for small shops, but banks may limit how many payments it can receive. For regular business, ask your bank or a business app for a merchant UPI ID: you'll get payment alerts, settlement reports and often a sound box.
Stay safe
- Customers scan to pay. You never need to scan anything or enter your PIN to receive money.
- Check your bank SMS or app before handing over goods. Fake "payment successful" screenshots are a common trick.
- Check your standee now and then: fraudsters sometimes paste their own QR over a shop's.
