Exam bodies change their rules from time to time, and some (like SSC) now take a live photo on the portal. If your notice gives a different size, choose Custom size and enter it.
Tips for a photo that gets accepted
- Face the camera straight on, with a neutral expression and eyes open. No glasses glare, no caps.
- Use a plain white or light background and even light, with no shadows on your face.
- Your face should fill about 70–80% of the photo height for passports.
- For signatures, sign with a black or dark blue pen on plain white paper and photograph it straight on.

How do I reduce a photo to 20 KB or 50 KB?
Pick the preset (or Custom size with your KB limits) and upload your photo. The tool automatically adjusts compression so the file lands within the limit, and shows the final size.
Is my photo uploaded anywhere?
No. Everything happens inside your browser. The photo never leaves your phone or computer.
How do I print passport photos at home or a shop?
Use "Print sheet" to download a 4×6 inch sheet with 8 passport photos. Print it as a 4×6 photo print at any photo shop or on a home photo printer at 100% scale, then cut along the lines.
Can it remove the background?
Not automatically. For best results, take the photo against a plain white wall. For signatures, "Clean background" makes the paper pure white.
